Today our new digital microscope was installed. It has great features and will be used in many of our projects.

What does concrete and food have in common? In the attached paper you can read how research on both materials can benefit from each other.

3D-printing with fibre reinforced materials has great potential. For sure we need to reinforce our concrete in one way or another, even if we print the material. Anne-Linde van Overmeir is working on this topic in a collaboration project between Delft and Eindhoven University and funded by NWO. She published an article in the Journal of Construction and Building Materials explaining some details and insights.

CCC-article on Self-healing with embedded bacteria

We published an artilce in CCC with Shan He as main author in which we investigated by microstructural characterization how bacteria close cracks in the vincinity of the capsules in which they are embedded.
