We are now able to measure precisely the Adiabatic Heat Development of Concrete (or concrete-like-materials) with our new tool.

PhD-defense and Workshop Lulea, Sweden

Just arrived in Lulea Sweden, where I will attend a PhD defence tomorrow morning of Marcin Sundin. In the afternoon we will have a workshop with an interesting program. I will present the MAGICON project.

Visit HADES Mol, Belgium

Yesterday we visited the HADES lab in Mol, Belgium. This lab is in a tunnel, 225 meter underground and has facilities to study potential storage of nuclear waste in clay layers.

SSCS2025 conference Rotterdam

This week we had a great conference in Rotterdam. The topic of the conference was Modelling Strategies for Sustainable Concrete Structures. On top of that we had contributions on Auxetic materials, which turned out to be a good mix. I organised this event together with Mladena Lukovic and iris Batterham. We had 50 participants and 42 presentations. These small conferences are actually the best. You have no stress of choosing the talk you want to attend. Everything was in the same room without parallel sessions. And there were a lot of questions and discussion. Highlights were also the Splash-tour we had and a technical excursion to the Maastunnel. Below some pictures.
