It was a big surprise yesterday to enter the dinner-room and seeing 8 former PhD-students from Delft waiting there for me. They came from all over China to have a dinner together. I felt really honored. Thank you very much: Yidong Gan, Minfei Liang, Leyang Lv, Quantao Liu, Lin Liu, Shi Xu, Yu Chen, Yu Zhang.

While I was at Southeast University in Nanjing today I also had the chance to visit the impressive structural lab. Very nice facilities with huge Shaking Table. Thanks Dawei Gu and Yu Chen for sowing me around.

We have 60 people attending our Course on Volume Change of Concrete. Most of them are PhD students.

This week we are giving a course on Volume Change of Concrete at Sobute New Materials in Nanjing China. The course is an initiative of Ole Jensen from DTU, who just started the first lecture on the Power's model. I will be teaching 3 lectures in the course this week, "creep and relaxation", "cracking and healing" and "multi-scale-modelling". Before taking the high speed train to Nanjing from Shanghai, I did spend 1 day in this beautiful city.
